Here are some other anime/manga by Osamu Tezuka. Godfather of Manga, father of Anime.


Astro boy

Astro boy was one of the first animated television series to appear in Japan. It first aired with its own television program back in 1963. Astro boy has made a wide variety of Television series, remakes, music, Video games, films and merchandise throughout the years. Astro boy is recognized as the Anime Icon and is still quite popular today.

The manga first started off as "Jetter Mars", whom Jetter Mars was a completely different character who was similar but had a different story and very different characters. Jetter Mars did not go to well and wasn't that much popular, so Tezuka decided to change some things and remodel Jetter Mars. Thus, Astro boy was created. Astro boy became more popular and known to many small children and appeared in many shounen magazines in the 1950s-60s. Note: *Shounen* is anime or manga mostly aimed at young boys. *Shoujo* is anime or manga aimed at young girls. Shounen and Shoujo usually starts the youths to like anime and manga.

Jetter Mars

Kimba The White Lion

Kimba The White Lion is an animated television series created in 1965. This series unlike Astro boy, was in color. However later on in the 1980s, Astro boy also had its own program in color. Kimba the white lion may have inspired Disney to create the award winning film "The Lion King".

Ribbon no Kishi "Princess Knight"

Ribbon no Kishi, Princess Knight was one of the first mahou shoujo series *Magical Girl* aimed at girls. It has appeared in several Shoujo Beat magazines such as Shoujo club and Shoujo Beat. Princess Knight has both its own anime and manga, however unlike other Tezuka Anime, Princess Knight has not yet to make a comeback with its own brand new animated series, so many fans are still waiting for a remake to be made to this day. Princess Knight is still popular today.

The Three-Eyed One

The three eyed one is about a boy named "Sharaku"  who has two split personalities that is one of the last of his ancestors. He wears a bandage on his head to cover up his third eye on his forehead. The three eyed one's characters are mostly recognized from Black Jack. In Black Jack, Wato is Sharaku's older sister. However, in the three-eyed one, Wato is Sharaku's classmate and friend who looks after him and makes sure he stays out of trouble. The animated series first began in the 1990s.
